About

What tile installation includes for your home

Tile installation starts with the room's purpose and the surface that will receive the tile. Floors need a stable base and a layout that suits traffic. Walls, showers, and backsplashes need different placement details and finish choices. We discuss tile size, pattern, grout color, trim, and transitions before work begins. A large-format tile can create a calm look, while smaller tile may suit a detailed shower or backsplash. Buyer fit matters. This service suits homeowners who want a durable finish as part of a bathroom, kitchen, flooring, or interior update. It may not fit a space that needs structural repair before finish work can start. We identify that concern during planning and explain the work needed before tile placement.

What Tile Installation Covers

Tile Installation is a finish service that sets tile over a prepared floor, wall, shower, or backsplash surface.

  • Tile installation differs from flooring installation because it includes tile layout, mortar coverage, grout joints, and movement planning.
  • This service covers interior tile work for homeowners, including material selection, surface preparation, placement, grouting, and final checks.

Overall I enjoyed working with Linda and her team. Even though there were no major redesign of spaces and I knew exactly what tile/fixtures/cabinets etc I wanted I still was appreciative of her insight on certain details and choices. It was very easy to collaborate with her. She makes an effort to be in-tune with a client. She was very responsive and took care of everything that needed attention as soon as she was able too. She made sure that I was listened to and taken care of as a client with her subcontractors. I would work with her again.

Leaving a long overdue review. Linda helped us remodel our bathroom and kitchen last year. We also did some flooring improvements, and some electrical and plumbing work along the way. The pricing was very reasonable, and we appreciated that Linda was always conscious of our budget, when we made adjustments to our plan. The work was delivered very quickly on promised timelines. She had some really good suggestions around the choice of flooring, which we are thankful for (especially looking back after a year). Also appreciate her sense of style.. it helped us make the right choices for countertops, tiles and fixtures. It all looks great, our guests often comment on how beautiful our kitchen looks. Thank you!

After experiencing water damage in our home, we needed to replace all our flooring, some kitchen cabinets, and redo our primary bath. Linda and her team truly saved the day after a disappointing experience with another contractor. She worked closely with us to choose the perfect tiles for our bathroom and find flooring that suited our home. Her contractors did exceptional work, from leveling the floors to installation and cabinet remaking, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Linda answered all our questions along the way, and we cannot speak highly enough of the work she and her team performed!

Questions homeowners ask about tile work

Who installs tile for Sammamish homeowners?

HomeRemodelSammamish.link installs tile for floors, walls, showers, backsplashes, and interior remodeling updates. We discuss the room, surface condition, materials, grout, and layout before work begins. Our services also include bathroom renovations, kitchen remodeling, flooring installation, cabinetry, and whole-home improvements, so related finish choices can be planned together.

What changes the cost of a tile project?

Tile area, surface preparation, material choice, layout, trim, grout, and related removal change the project cost. Large-format tile, detailed patterns, damaged bases, and many edge cuts can require more planning and labor. We review those details with you and provide a free estimate based on the planned work.

Should I choose ceramic, porcelain, stone, or glass tile?

The room, surface, care needs, and design goal decide which tile material fits best. Ceramic suits many interior surfaces, while porcelain offers a dense option for selected floors and walls. Stone and glass bring different textures and looks. We explain the tradeoffs during finish selection instead of treating one material as right for every room.

Can tile cover an uneven floor or wall?

Tile needs a suitable, prepared surface before placement. Uneven areas can affect tile alignment, mortar contact, grout lines, and transitions. We inspect the planned surface and identify preparation work before the tile layout is finalized. The written scope then separates surface preparation from the finish work, so the plan stays clear.

What should I bring to the first tile consultation?

Bring room photos, preferred tile samples, finish ideas, and a list of surfaces you want updated. Existing cabinets, flooring, fixtures, trim, and grout lines can affect the final layout. We use the consultation to clarify goals and material preferences, then guide the choices that need to be settled before the written scope.

How do I request a free tile estimate?

You can request a free estimate by sharing the room, tiled surfaces, existing problems, and material direction. We review the project goals and related remodeling needs before outlining the work. Free Estimates Available applies to the estimate request, while the final scope reflects the tile areas and preparation decisions discussed with you.

When Customers Call Us About Tile Installation

1

Cracked Tile After Water Damage

Water damage can leave cracked tile, damaged grout, or worn surfaces across a bathroom or kitchen. The visible tile may not show the full repair need, so the base and nearby finishes matter. We assess the affected area, discuss replacement materials, and prepare a written scope for the work in Sammamish.

2

New Bathroom Finish Planning

A bathroom update often involves more than choosing a wall color and tile sample. Shower walls, floor tile, grout, trim, and fixture locations must work together. We use the consultation to clarify your goals, review finish choices, and shape the tile work around the room's planned use.

3

Worn Floors And New Cabinetry

A kitchen with new cabinetry may need tile that fits the new layout and nearby flooring. Tile size, edge cuts, transitions, and grout color affect the finished look. We review those connections before placement, then explain the planned scope so you can decide how much of the room to update.
